TRUE LOVE – Platinum Pair

Niou and Yagyuu had different views on what defined 'true love'.

"It's a willingness to accept everything about your partner, to forgive and forget, and to stay together no matter what hardship they face." Yagyuu said once to Ayaka, though the boy had run off before he had a chance to ask why he was asking such a question.

"True love's the reason why you'll change anything about yourself for your partner, whether they want you to or not." Niou had said, and Ayaka jotted it down in his notebook before running off.

Niou and Yagyuu had different views on what defined 'true love', that's what Ayaka decided. He lay on the bench by the tennis court during practice, where Niou and Yagyuu were playing against Marui and Jackal. He tapped his pencil against his lips, looking again at the list of answers his teammates had given him when he saw a shadow blocking his light

Yukimura hovered over him, looking at the page. "What's this, Ayaka-kun?" He asked, and Ayaka knew there was no point in hiding the page and flushed in shame.

"Just… something…" He mumbled, and Yukimura pressed his finger against the page, tracing downwards and reading everyone's comments before stopping after Niou's.

"My, my, those two have rather similar thoughts, don't they?" He asked, chuckling lightly. Ayaka looked at him in confusion. Yukimura simply smiled down at him. "Look, their comments fit together perfectly." Ayaka didn't see it, but if Yukimura said so it must be true. The captain wouldn't just lie to him.

Ayaka looked over at Niou and Yagyuu playing tennis, how their style fit perfectly, like a puzzle, together. He supposed that, even though their seemingly mismatched comments threw him off, they could just be twisted around enough and spun to fit in a different place. It sort of made sense, really.

Niou and Yagyuu. Ayaka paused, closing up his notebook. It could work.
