MARRY ME – Ken96
"Well… really… I always wanted to be a bride…"
All ears perked up at the strange reply to Mukuro's question of 'what do you want to be when you grow up, Chrome?' Even Mukuro paused to process the idea, but gave Chrome a reassuring smile after she seemed to be worried by his silence.
Ken, however, had started howling in laughter. Chikusa remained gratefully quiet.
"A bride? That's your dream?" He had to pause for more laughter, then grinned mockingly at Chrome, his tongue lolling out. "No one would want to marry you, stupid girl!"
Chrome looked down, her face red and tears starting to form in her eye. Mukuro took only a moment before patting her shoulder. "Do not fear, Chrome darling. You shall have your delightful wedding. Chikusa!" The silent teen jogged up to Mukuro's side. "Go get a large bouquet for our lovely bride! Ken!"
Chikusa left and Ken grudgingly walked up to Mukuro, who turned his back to Chrome and whispered something in Ken's ear. Ken shot back a good three feet, roaring with a string of incoherent words.
Chrome wasn't sure what look Mukuro had on his face, but it caused Ken to immediately pale and look to the floor. Chrome tilted her head in confusion as Ken slowly walked up to her, his hands in his pockets and his eyes refusing to look anywhere on her.
"C-C-C-" He was having trouble even thinking of his sentence, let alone spewing it out. "Chrome, wanna marry me?" Chrome's eye widened and her cheeks flushed and she could vaguely hear Mukuro chastising Ken and telling him to put more passion into his proposal.
"Y-yes." She said quietly, and Ken looked at her with a 'huh'. Chrome smiled up at him. "Yes, I'll marry you." She said with a sweet smile. Ken blushed a deep red and Mukuro clapped.
Chikusa arrived with the bouquet within another minute and Mukuro cast an illusion so they had a beautiful church to get married in. Ken pulled at the illusionary collar of his suit, already five thousand times more uncomfortable than he even knew was possible. Chrome happily twirled around in her glittering white wedding dress, happily taking the bouquet.
Mukuro acted as their priest and Chikusa tossed flower petals and confetti onto their path and over them as they said their vows until Ken roared at him to stop getting those damn flowers in his eyes. Mukuro smacked Ken's nose with a rolled-up paper and told him to stop ruining the ceremony.
"You may now kiss the bride." Mukuro said, and the happy couple blushed. It was something they knew was coming, but it still seemed to hit like a freight train at midnight. Chrome closed her eye and leaned forward ever so slightly, her lips parting just so.
Ken froze on the spot, rigid and red until Mukuro gave him a sharp kick to the back of knee, letting him stumble forwards enough to close the distance between him and Chrome and letting him know that he was to do it anyways. He gave her a quick peck, the softest of touches, and then ran down the aisle, wanting out of this 'crazy illusion' now. Chrome smiled lightly, pink on her cheeks, and tossed the bouquet behind her, quickly giving chase to her new husband.
"Aren't they an adorable couple?" Mukuro asked with a contented sigh, his hand lightly rearranging the flowers in the bouquet. Chikusa nodded and pushed his glasses up, choosing to give one more toss of the confetti before it would disappear.
