Legolas jumps as the thunderclap resounds through the fortress. In truth the sound does not surprise him in the least. It is the sudden boldness of Aragorn's touch, grabbing his butt in the midst of an entire elven army. The army of his stepfather, whose daughter won't take no for an answer, no less. Under the cover of the thunder he whispers "I will not loose you in this battle fair one." Before he can make a similar demand Aragorn slips away. Only Gimli had witnessed the exchange though it was unlike he had heard what was said. He shows no sign of disapproval so Legolas returns his attention to the coming battle.
