Belle's back story
Her mother fell in love with Maurice when he was at a fair close to her home. She loved adventure and loved Maurice's quirky personality. Then were soon traveling around to all kinds of places. Belle was born and her mother would always read her stories which harnessed her love for books. When Belle was about 11 or 12, her mother came down with a terrible illness and it then became Belle's job to take care over Maurice, her mother and herself. Belle would sit and read to her mother as the illness became worse and worse with each passing day. Belle's mother sadly passed away and Maurice and Belle were brought even closer by this tragic event. They continued to move about until they came across this small provincial town. They lived there for about two years before the movie starts. Belle is around 18 or 19. She clung to books as a memory of her mother which in turn made her an outsider in the village. In the past two years, none of the villagers got to know her except the bookseller who seemed to take her underneath his wing and offer comfort and books.
The Beast was around the age of 11 when the enchantress came to visit his castle. His parents had died when he was very young so he was brought up and very spoiled by the castle servants. They weren't exactly sure how to treat him so they gave into his every wish. The Beast had been very lonely in his castle because it was so far away from the village. Once his parents had past away the village slowly forgot where the castle was and tales of the royalty turned into scary stories about the Beast. Belle had never heard about the castle because the stories had died off once she had reached the village.
Who was to know that these two people's lives would cross and create the most beautiful love story ever told?
