I started this about a month ago during my epic holiday Star Trek marathon (nothing but Star Trek, in all its facets, for 4 days).
Happier
Keiko knows she's lying to herself when she tells herself that her husband is completely loyal. She knows she's lying when she tells herself that he loves her, wholly, completely, and that he loves no other.
Because she knows there's someone else. Someone he loves greater than he'll ever love her.
She knows that Miles is lying when he says he's working late, or tells her he's going for drinks with some friends. She knows. Sometimes she wishes she didn't know where he was.
She never confronts him. She never says a word. Not because she thinks there's a chance that she's wrong, because she knows what's happening. She never says a word because it's better that way. Everyone's happier this way.
Miles is happier with him, but at least Keiko has him in some little way, even if it means nothing to him.
Reviews are love.
