The Dream Insecurity Situation
Leonard got in to bed beside Penny, who it seemed was already asleep.
He sighed, switched off his bedside light and got in a comfortable position and tried to settle down for the night.
But try as he might Penny's unconvincing comments earlier, that her dreams are always of Leonard.
Kept nagging at his conscious.
Finally Leonard decided that he really needed to know what was in his Wife's head, and raising himself up on one elbow he gave her a gentle shake.
"Not now Leonard, ...tired", She mumbled in reply.
Disappointed Leonard lay back down and tried to get to sleep, but only managed to toss and turn in his agitation.
By now Penny, now roused from her slumber, and knowing when something was bothering her husband asked him "What's the matter?".
Leonard confessed his feelings of insecurity over what was really the object of her dreams, as her comments earlier were unconvincing.
"Sweety, I'll tell you tomorrow, OK?", Penny told him, then she settled back down to try to return to said dreams.
Leonard lay back down and now fretted mightily over whatever Penny would reveal?.
And soon, once again He resumed his restlessness, And Penny finally realised that Leonard was really worried over this. It wasn't His fault of course. A lousy Mother added to being constantly bullied, would destroy anyone's confidence, She loved her Husband and hated whenever his insecurities would take over.
She sat up, switched on her light and turned to him and said, "OK Sweety, I'll tell you what I dream about. I dream of the look on your face when I tell you I am expecting our first child, I dream that you have your hands resting on my Baby bump as you talk to your Son or Daughter. I dream that we are walking together in the park as we push our little one in the stroller. I dream of watching you lovingly changing his or hers diaper, or feeding Him or Her breakfast. I really wanted to ask you at the weekend, perhaps after a nice meal together, but I will ask you now. I want a Baby Leonard, I want your Baby Honey, please?", Penny pleaded earnestly, her longing mirrored on her face.
"But when you said that Bernadette had to have a baby growing inside her, and Amy having to marry one, I thought that you wasn't at all interested?", Leonard explained.
"Oh Honey, I know I don't show it, and you know me well enough by now to know that I'm scared to reveal my feelings, because It makes me feel so vulnerable. But I still have the same desires as other Women. Honey, I Married you because I love you so much and now I want to move to the next step in our marriage, And Leonard, I have never wanted anything more, Than to have your child.
Leonard, by now utterly astonished at this upturn of events threw his arms around his Wife and agreed wholeheartedly to her request.
Later the dreams of both were filled with wonderful visions of their precious offspring.
