Summary: Poseidon saying goodbye to his newborn Percy and Sally. I've always wanted to know if Percy really did get to see his father as a baby or not, so I decided to write this.

Setting: Sally's apartment

Goodbyes

Poseidon frowned as he saw the look in Sally's eyes. It was hard to say as it was to hear, she closed her eyes and protectively wrapped her arms around the bundle she was holding. Poseidon loved her and knew that she is stubborn; he should have anticipated that this would happen. He held out his hands and she gave in and let him hold his newborn son.

"Sally," Poseidon started. "It will be the only safe place for Perseus. Surely my brothers will not be happy that I broke our oath. You will have to send him there." As he said this he was studying his son. His jet black hair and sea green eyes just like his, he mirrored his father. He sighed and hoped he would make it, even if to just ten years old, that was going to be difficult for him. Perseus was wearing a blue shirt and green shorts. They were obviously too big for him, but he would grow in to them someday. He looked up and smiled the smile only a child can, of pure trust and love. Poseidon smiled back and gave Sally some time to digest that her son's life is going to be very difficult; she will not be able to keep him alive if she does not send him to camp half-blood.

"I don't want to," Sally Protested stubbornly. "Why does he have to? Is there some way I could keep him near me? Please…" Her voice faltered and tears were streaming down her face.

Even though her face was acting like a landslide, tears and snot falling off her face, Poseidon thought she was the most beautiful women ever. Oh gods, I hope Amphitrite doesn't ever hear this, He thought wistfully. She would kill me. Hmm, so would Zeus and Hades, but not for the same reason, I shudder to even think that it would be for the same reason.

She hugged Poseidon and her son, resting her head on his heart, hearing his heart beating. "You could reconsider my offer, Sally. You could come live with me, you would be immortal." He knew the answer to this before she said it, before it even left his lips. He had to ask though, sometimes Poseidon really felt like Calypso, falling in love with someone and vice versa, offering them immorality and safety forever just to have them turn you down but you have to ask.

She sniffled. "You know the answer to that. I can't, I don't want you or anyone else take care of me when I can do it." Sally heard the Lord of the Sea swear like the sailor he is in ancient Greek. Looking down Percy had pulled on his hair, making his father swear in ancient Greek, Percy was giggling like crazy. He, Sally, and Percy were laughing as if they just heard the funniest joke in the world.

Poseidon gave Percy a kiss on his forehead and reluctantly handed him back to his mother. He sighed and said his goodbye.

Turning to leave Sally cried out "Wait!" and spun him around and pressed her lips to his one last time. When they broke apart they stared at each other, memorizing the others face. "Goodbye, Poseidon, I will take care of our son."

He mumbled something about blowfishes, still dazed from the kiss and turned into an ocean breeze.
