They were on his bed, kissing urgently as if this would be the last time they would have the chance to touch each other. His hands pulled her waist against his, and their pelvises ground together, the friction getting too hot to ignore.

"Alex," she moaned quietly, whimpering as he trailed kisses up and down her neck. Every time his lips met with her smooth skin, her heart beat hard and fast, almost if it were about to leap from her chest. He pulled at her skirt, looking in her sapphire coloured eyes as if he were asking her permission. The blonde girl nodded, allowing Alex to remove it. He worshipped her with his mouth, and when he was done with that, she removed his last article of clothing that was separating their bodies from becoming one.

After, when it was over, he held her close. "I love you, Desiree," he murmured, letting his lips briefly touch her forehead and the sides of her face.

"Will you ever think about me?" Desiree questioned softly, ignoring his three words. He looked at her, brown eyes widening in surprise.

"Of course I will." She turned away from him then, praying that he wouldn't be able to detect the doubt on her face.

"I know you'll meet other girls on tour." She frowned slightly, but covered it up with a playful shoulder punch. "Don't forget me, alright?"

"I could never," Alex reassured Desiree, trying to convince her with his soft lips. Eventually she gave up the argument, falling asleep with him as their legs entangled beneath the sheets. The next day he awoke to a a single sheet of loose-leaf notebook paper and an empty bed.

Dear Alexander William Gaskarth,

This is killing me. I can't do this anymore. I can't tie you down. All Time Low is going to be the next big thing. Girls are going to be throwing themselves at you, and after not seeing me for months, you're not going to be able to resist any longer. I don't want to get my heart broken. If you were ever unsure of my feelings for you, know that I did love you. I still do. I want to be selfish and keep all you to myself. But I can't do that, Alex. You deserve to be free. I hope to God I'll see you again one day. Until then.

Yours,

Desiree Sapphire Hill.

The letter went on to reminisce over the happy times they'd shared, and all of her favourite memories they had together. With a heavy heart, Alex frantically dialed her number. She picked up on the third ring.

"Hello?" At the sound of her dazed voice, thousands of emotions he'd never be able to describe hit him like a fullblown tsunami.

"Don't do this, Desiree. Please, God, don't do this to me." He was crying now, not even bothering to attempt to mask his sobs.

"Alex…I'm sorry." Her voice broke, and tears slowly made their way down her pale face.

"It doesn't have to be this way!" He shouted, putting all of his effort into making her understand that none of this was worth it without her. It wasn't enough.

"Yeah, it does," she said quietly. With one last 'I love you,' she hung up, leaven a shaken Alex to stare at his phone in disbelief. Where had he gone wrong?
