Hiccup laughed as he dived away from the water being splashed at him. Looking up he could see Toothless grinning at him as he lifted his wing and gusted the water from the lake. Hiccup knew he didn't stand a chance, he was going to get soaked. Trying to move before the water reached him, he tripped over and fell face first into the grass. As he rolled over the water sprayed over him and he could hear Toothless chuckle. In his own dragon way of course.
Standing up and wiping himself down he walked over to Toothless and stroked him. "Thanks bud." He laughed and smiled at the dragon. It was a hot summer afternoon and Hiccup had brought Toothless to the lake to catch some fish, but it hadn't taken them long to get into a water fight. Although Hiccup knew he didn't stand a change against a dragon.
Hiccup jumped when he felt some water land on his head. He looked up to see Toothless's tail flicking in the lake and a large grin on his face. "Naw come on bud. That's not fair." Hiccup laughed and picked up his bucket, hoping to get Toothless back. He knelt at the edge of the lake and placed the bucket into the water, watching it fill up.
Before he could understand what was happening, he found himself submerged into the water. His clothes and boots soaked. Toothless stood beside the lake grinning. Hiccup came up from the water and spat out what was in his mouth. "Gee, thanks bud." Hiccup removed the seaweed and whatever else was in the bottom of the lake off him and trudged out of the water.
His feet squelched as he made his way over to Toothless. "That wasn't funny bud." Although he couldn't help smiling a little as he said it. He could never be mad at the dragon. Not after everything the two of them had been through. It had taken Hiccup a long time to get over Toothless killing his father, although he had done so under a trance, but he knew he couldn't lose his best friend over it.
Toothless gave Hiccup a small nudge and looked at the fish that were bobbing out of the water. Revealing his teeth he dived into the water and emerged with a mouthful of fish and threw them onto the grass. Hiccup picked them up and placed them into the bucket. It didn't matter anymore that his clothes were wet; he was having fun with his best friend and nothing could take those moments away from them. Once the bucket was full, Toothless held it in his mouth and the two flew back to the village. Happy their relationship had survived.
