Eternally Warm

Look how cold the rest of the world gets in winter.

But it doesn't matter if I can't see it, because I am wrapped in a warm love that is everlasting. Not with a person or a pet - those things age and dwindle and die. But with something that is eternal: a beating heart that echoes in something that cannot be worn out or destroyed.

The sound of stones on a board that change slightly through the ages but never in the same sense as growing old. Rather, it is the sound of adaption. The sound the flesh and blood hearts can not. Old men who die, finally, collapsed - the board and its stone pieces were not like that. They were eternal. Everlasting. Whether the sun shone brightly outdoors or the snowflakes of winter fell…

I thought a world in which I loved only this eternal game could never have a winter whose could reach my heart.
