Hey guys! Here's a little one shot I compiled for university and got a FAB grade too! Also sorry about the length I know it's far too short, however assignment was to complete in 100-150 words! Needless to say I struggled! Anyway enjoy!
The children excitedly ran towards the huge bonfire in the middle of the village green. The parents stood in a huddle, chatting and laughing, when suddenly an explosion filled their ears.
Gripping his arms that were wrapped around her, Catherine flinched into the security of John's warm body.
Fireworks danced on the canvas of the dark night. Awestruck by their myriad of colours and glittering patterns hurled high into the heavens, Catherine had thought back to when she met John on a ghost tour the year before.
Then another fountain of light and a sound of falling gravel brought her back from her thoughts.
They watched as the gathered families revelled in the searing heat of the bonfire as it cackled and consumed the skilfully built mountain of palettes. Scents of freshly brewed tea and coffee swirled around, mixing with those of onions and hot dogs, still warm to the touch.
Once the fireworks had finished their displays and the bonfire had been reduced to a glowly ember, Catherine and John walked arm in arm to the comfort of their home.
