Tony: "Please… Who really likes weddings, anyway?"

Ziva: "There's nothing good about them."

Tony: "Weird uncles who make inappropriate toasts."

Ziva: "Rubber chicken enhanced by cheap wine."

Tony: "Cheesy music and children. Rental tuxedoes."

Ziva: "The bouquet, the garter, the cake, the-the…"

Tony: "The fittings."

Ziva: "The fittings. The fittings! I am not even to the actual ceremony yet!

" Tony: "… The vows."

Ziva: "Hmm… The ring."

Tony: "… The kiss."

Ziva: "The ketubah."

Tony: "I don't even know what I'd do if I had to deal with all that."

Ziva: "… Elope?"

~ 9x24 "Till Death Do Us Part"

There they sat in the bullpen, each busily working away. Thoughts ran through each of their heads as quickly as McGee typed away at his computer.

And then he spoke, "Please. Who really likes weddings, anyway?"

Tony continued the conversation, listing all the things he disliked about weddings. There were so many things she wanted to say in return, but she was cautious not to slip up. Not to show her emotions. She didn't want to show that her tough Mossad exterior was only a façade to her desires and romantic wishes.

She longed to be loved, to be in a relationship like Palmer and Breena. But no one could love her, she thought. She was too damaged, broken beyond repair for anyone to love. She sighed mentally at the thought of being alone. She constantly tried to remind herself that someone would sweep her off her feet and they would love her unconditionally. Yet, no matter what she tried, Ziva couldn't stop herself from feeling alone.

Tony spoke, trying to ease his disappointment of not being able to go the wedding. All week, he had been planning on going down to Florida to drink and dance the night away. His mind had been cluttered with so many thoughts lately. Every so often, his mind would wander back to memories of EJ or Jean. He had always wanted to settle down, maybe have some little DiNizzos crawling around. His job always got in the way, though. But he stilled preferred it.

It made him feel like he had a purpose in the world.

He wished that there would be someone to understand him, to understand the complications of his job. But a girl like this would be hard to find in his world. Tony always felt destined to be alone.

The conversation ended, and they both returned to their work. Neither of them could stop thinking about marriage. Not being able to attend Palmer's had really disappointed the team, especially Tony and Ziva.

They had both always felt alone. After all that has happened to them, neither Ziva nor Tony expected to married during their lives.

They would both be spending the remainder of their time sitting at their desks, typing case reports, and drinking coffee, while discussing the latest issues with the members of their team.

Feeling a sad emptiness in their hearts and minds would be a daily thing for the two.

But they would both hide it under their smiles and jokes.

They wanted nothing more than the chance to stand at the altar, and kiss the one they would spend the rest of their life with.

Nothing more than to read their vows, and speak the words,

" 'Til death do us part…"
