Eragon loved Murtagh with his entire heart, with the very soul and purpose of his being.

When Murtagh said that he did no longer love Eragon, It broke Eragon heart, the broken pieces shattered across the plains of the dimensions and universe, the frail glass of his life force scattered for everyone to see, the rivers of sadness and loss streaming down his flawless plains of his cheeks, dripping onto the dirt beneath him, the shakes of his body, wracking form the top of his golden brown hair to the tips of his toe's , his amber eyes glassy and his anguished cries. Everyone he had every loved left him , his mum when he was a baby , Roran to marry Katrina and leave so he didn't have to join the army, Garrow murdered , Saphira, Arya and Nasuada imprisoned and killed And now Murtagh.

It was his end.

Murtagh stood on the top of the hill looking down on the funeral of the one true love of his life, He knew that it was his fault that his beloved was now under six feet under the soil he died on.

As the rain poured down in sheets, which seemed to reflect his depression, He thought about Why Eragon had died and why it was his fault.

He thought that leaving Eragon would make Eragon safer because everyone Murtagh loved always died, Tornac , his mother Selena, Nasuada, Thorn everyone and he didn't want Eragon to go like that that but he was wrong and Eragon had given up so when a band of Thieves saw him in his vulnerable state, they took their chance.

He took one last look at the sight and turned around, a single tear running its course down his cheek, He said four last words before he took that last step and plunged into the icy depths below.

"I love you, Eragon!"
