"Gyah!"
A chair scraped against the floor.
"Haru-?"
A hand slammed down on the table.
"I am so sick of you guys calling me 'commoner' all time. Seriously! You spend all your time criticising me, or making a fool out of me. None of you are ever honest and you don't do any work – ever. You're always pushing me around, and treating me like your pet and I hate it!"
"Haruhi, wait!"
A teacup wobbles dangerously.
"So what if I'm not super rich like you? So what if I'm an honour student? You see me as this fairytale character, when my life is the reality. You don't get that people like me have to build up relationships, not rely on status and wealth. We have to work hard and hope we do well in life. Your lives are the fairytale!"
"But, I…"
Footsteps.
"You guys couldn't last one week in a public school!"
More footsteps.
A door opens.
A gust of wind.
The door slams shut.
"Haruhi… I've been thinking."
"Yes, Tamaki-senpai?"
"… You're right. We have no idea what a school for commoners is like! And we should, really, because it would be so selfish to restrict our services to only the rich and beautiful."
"What are you trying to say?"
Tamaki had come looking for Haruhi, after her outburst. They were sitting by the fountain, and now Tamaki chose to speak – and like always, Haruhi thought bitterly, he had missed the point entirely.
"Why, we should expand our services to cater for those less fortunate! Yes, what a marvellous idea!"
Haruhi had never noticed it before, but Tamaki really did over-do things with the way he held his arms out, and held his chin so high. Damn rich people.
"You completely missed the point I was trying to make, senpai."
"I can see it now! How wonderful~! We shall be able to expand our horizons. Oh, won't it be just terrific that we won't be limiting our services to those of high status? We'd be giving the poor something marvellous to enjoy, and it would be such a treat for them!"
Haruhi sweatdropped.
