The Proposal
Lily sat at the table at the Potters house looking very upset as she used the fork to push food around her plate.
"I didn't poison it you know?" Mrs. Potter asked.
"Yeah," Lily sighed.
She was angry at James for taking advantage of her and her parents. He had invited them over for dinner on platform 9¾ so Lily knew she couldn't say no. Not with her parents standing there. She had given them a pleading look and they just nodded for her to say yes.
"Mr. and Mrs. Evans?" James asked.
"Yes dear," Mrs. Evans replied.
"I would like to ask if I could marry your daughter." He asked in a very proper and polite voice.
Lily started giggling like mad. She couldn't help it, it was another one of his schemes. She looked at her parents and told them.
"No way please say no."
"JAMES YOU ARE THIRTEEN YOU DON'T NEED TO BE TALKING ABOUT MARRIGE!" His father thundered.
Mr. and Mrs. Evans laughed at the boy. Mrs. Potter also looked quite amused. Sirius who was there as well patted his friend on the back.
"You are a little young mate, Maybe ask her on a date and make sure she DOESN'T Hex you before you talk about marriage."
James laughed, "You know what Sirius she'll fall for me I bet ya ten galleons."
Sirius smirked, "DEAL! Now Lily I SWEAR If you fall for him your paying the ten Galleons."
Lily nodded giggling and looking down.
"Mom Dad? Help me?" Lily said.
"With what?" Mr. Evans asked.
"Get me out of here?"
"Lily that isn't very nice the Potters were very kind to invite us over."
"Ah yes so James could propose?" She asked sarcastically.
"Why don't the three of you go upstairs and hang out and us adults can talk?" Mrs. Potter gestured to the kids.
James and Sirius raced upstairs. Lily slowly got up and walked looking at the ground. James ran back and grabbed her hand forcing her to run up the stairs.
"JAMES LET GO OF ME!" She screamed.
"Why on Earth would I do that?" He asked still grasping her wrist.
"Because I want you too!" She said shrilly.
He sighed but obeyed.
(5 years later)
"Lily?" James Potter asked his girlfriend.
"Yes James?"
"It's not easy to say this but-"
"Your breaking up with me aren't you? After all the chasing I wasn't what you wanted." She asked worriedly as a tear rolled down her cheek!
"NOT EVEN CLOSE TO WHAT I WAS GONNA SAY!" He shouted as a red box fell out of his pocket. "CLOSE YOUR EYES!" He demanded.
She obeyed "Jamsie why do I have close my eyes?"
"Cause," He replied. "Okay you can open them!"
She opened her eyes. He wasn't at his normal height. He was on the ground with a red box opened reveling the most beautiful ring she had ever seen.
"When we were thirteen I asked your parents for their daughters hand in marriage. They never gave me an answer so I went back and asked them again. They said yes. So would you do the honors of becoming Lily Marie Potter? Will you marry me?"
"Yes," She whispered gently.
He took the ring out of the box and placed it on her finger. She leaned in while he was doing so and kissed him gently. They were both crying but they were crying tears of joy.
