Alright, I'm going to admit it. I love spawns! Whenever I get into a fandom I make up what I think the kids would be like. One thing I really wanted to do it write some fan works with future kids. This is that fic! This is short and more explanations for the others kids will come into another story. I've had it written for awhile and decided to finish it.
Also Chris doesn't have a surname so I gave him one. Chris's is the first name of his actor, Taylor.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you," chorused the group on the beach. The picnic table had a cake that said "Happy Birthday Marissa and Cody!" written across it. The kids and even the adults had a small cone hat sitting on their heads.
"You look like a monkey and you smell like one too!" piped up a boy near the birthday twins. Erik had raised his eyebrow at his son who quickly quieted down. Marissa only shot her friend a look before turning back to their shared birthday cake. Both the brunettes blew out the thirteen birthday candles at the same time. Surrounding them, stood their closest friends and family.
Mimmi smiled at Chris as they blew out the candles together. It was so nice to see them get along after fighting over what the theme for the birthday would be for the past few days. Cody wanted it to be superheroes and Marissa wanted to do fairytales. Mimmi was fiercely against both and wanted to do an ocean themed party. It was, after all, their thirteen. Being thirteen was the biggest thing in a young person's life. Especially if you were half mermaid or half merman.
Being thirteen meant getting their tails for the first time. Everyone was particularly anxious about today. While Ondina and Erik's children were born mermaids and merman, Chris and Mimmi's were bound to be different. Ondina had an ancient traditional mermaid birth and Mimmi a land person one. She looked around and saw the sun go down and people leaving the beach, until only they remained.
By now the others would be at Mako waiting for Marissa and Cody to do make their official merperson swim. Cody would get a blue tail of his own and Marissa a gold one of her own. They might even have a race to the moon pool.
"I think we did a good job with them," said Chris as he kissed his wife. Mimmi giggled and only rolled her eyes at him. She looked at him with an adoring look on her face. They watched and looked out to the sea. A dozen heads had popped out of the water. They were close friends as they were going to lead them to the pod.
Only Chris and Mimmi were going to the island to watch their kids. It had been a tradition since Ondina and Erik's son, Zale, was born. Then proceeded to have several more as well. All of them went on to have kids themselves, especially since mermen can now return to the sea.
"I think we should have more kids, just to do this together," teased Chris. He always wanted a lot of kids due to being an only child. Although knowing Ondina made up for that.
"I'll think about it," said Mimmi jokingly before shaking her head in disagreement. Chris only picked her up and kissed her forgetting that her kids were still watching. The merpeople in the water only grinned before Cody and Marissa joined them.
Cody looked at his half cousin Lorelei and then at his other half cousins and smiled. At least now he could join them in the water. Marissa waved to her parents before diving into the water and a gold glittering tail shimmer in the setting sun. Both new teens grinned as they were about to start their own adventure.
