AN: Part of Kay's Drabble Chain Challenge. Inspired in equal parts by Dani's prompt of: Charlie/Harry and meet the family, a wish to not do an obvious meaning, and a line in the fanfic in "It's Not Easy," where Neville thinks that Harry would say he's fine if he was bleeding to death on the floor. By that you can probably guess, there be depression Angst Ahoy!

Meet My Family

Voldemort was dead. Harry had completed the prophecy. The wizarding world was free of madmen. Voldemort had taken out his own followers in an effort to save his life. It was over, and Charlie couldn't give a damn, because Voldemort was going to take what was most precious to him.

"I'm fine," Harry told him, "it's OK Charlie." Charlie nodded to Harry, wanting them both to believe the words, but his heart was breaking. He knelt on the floor holding a blood covered hand in crushing grip. His other hand moved through messy, dirty, black locks.

Charlie ignored Poppy Pomphey's frantic efforts to heal Harry. No one knew the curse that Voldemort had used, only that it seemed to be slow, painful, and unstoppable, as it consumed his flesh internally.

Charlie chocked on sobs as he saw blood bubble from Harry's lips and his breathing became more raspy and labored. "Harry- Harry-love you need to hold on just a few more minutes so Poppy can fix you. Then you can sleep for a week, I promise." Charlie said looking into unfocused green eyes. Unable to believe what was happening Charlie ignored to blood and kissed Harry, for what he hoped wasn't the last time. Harry smiled against his mouth and worked his lips in a feeble imitation of his past kisses.

Charlie backed up and rested his forehead against Harry's. He could hardly see for tears, but he looked into Harry's eyes and knew. Knew in a way that couldn't be denied, because Harry knew. A breathy hiss came out of Harry's lips and Charlie listened to the breathy words, "love... you...... Oh... kay...... meet... my... family...... love..." Harry spoke around the blood in his mouth until it was impossible. Even then, Harry looked at him, and his eyes spoke his goodbye. Then, he was silent.
