Just a short fic I randomly got the idea for, might turn it into a series of random fluffy one shots.
"You really should be better at this." Belle said with a laugh. She collected the rent Rumple owed her with a smug smirk. They were sitting at the kitchen counter with a large pitcher of iced tea, two glasses and the Monopoly game board set up before them.
"When I agreed to play this ridiculous game I had assumed you had never played it before, dearie." Rumple said with an irritated growl and Belle held back a laugh.
"What else were Ruby and I going to do when things got slow at the library? She doesn't really do quiet reading well." Belle smiled affectionately, thinking of Ruby and what a help she'd been while Belle was trying to adjust to another new life.
Rumple rolled the dice again and nearly threw the game board off the counter. His token (the bag of gold, which Belle had picked out for him when they started the game) had landed on the 'go to jail' space for the fifth time this game.
"There has to be some kind of rule against this!" He shouted. Belle bit her lip and took a long drink of her iced tea, trying to hide her amusement. For all of his 'I'm the Dark One, fear me' type speeches, the second something didn't go his way he became a bad tempered five year old. Belle took her turn and Rumple managed to escape the jail once more.
"Calm down, Mister Money Bags. No need to get so worked up. It's only a game." She said the last part soothingly, giving him a wide smile. He gave her a stern look, knowing that she was just trying to appease him. Belle thought it was working until she seen a razor thin smirk cross his lips.
Out of all the names in all the worlds that he had been called, this was one he had never seen coming.
"Did you just call me 'Mister Money Bags'?" He rolled the dice absentmindedly, not bothering to check where his token would land.
Belle tried to hold back her smile and put on a serious face.
"I think it suits you." Belle said and put her hands on his shoulders, leaning closer to him.
"I can't say that I agree." He murmured and seen that playful mischievous look coming into Belle's eyes. The same look she had gotten so many times while in the dark castle, before things had gone wrong. After all the queen had done to her, after what he had done to her, Belle hadn't broken. Every cruelty was thrown at her and yet she remained herself, able to see the good even when no one else could.
"Doesn't mean it's not accurate." She grinned at him. "Mister Money Bags."
Rumple stole a kiss from her teasing lips and quirked a brow as Belle began to giggle. He looked down at the game board and seen she had moved his token after he'd thrown the dice.
'Go to Jail'.
"Damn it!"
