It was beautiful day. The clouds so fluffy and the sky so blue. He gazed up at it with admiration.
"Hey...Miroku?" He asked, snapping the monk out of his train of thought, but not yet managing to make him stop staring at the demon-slayer, polishing her weapon.
"Yes, Shippo?"
"Why is the sky blue?" This made Miroku stop staring and look up at the sky.
"The same reason the grass is green; because Kami willed it so."
Shippo nodded and looked back up to the sky. Then he stood up and toddled over to the young girl.
(A/N: I love that word. Toddled. -Giggles- )
"Kagome? Why is the sky blue?"
She seemed to ponder this, searching back to her science books for a reasonable answer.
"Because blue is the brightest of the colors, it shines through the most."
That should have been enough for Shippo, but he walked towards the half-demon, who was currently sitting in a tree.
"Inuyasha?" He called up.
No answer.
"Inuyasha?"
No answer.
"Inuya-"
"I heard you the first time, brat!"
Ignoring this Shippo asked his question.
"Why is the sky blue?"
"How the hell should I know?" Inuyasha snapped.
Shippo, taking this as a cue to leave, hurried back to Sango. Maybe she wouldn't be so hostile about it.
"Sango, why is the sky blue?"
The young woman tapped her fingers against her knee, narrowing her eyes slightly from the sun's glare.
"My father would say that it was the work of a thousand demon's auras. So large and powerful that it filled the whole sky."She sighed wistfully and went back to her weapon.
He crawled towards the sleeping fire cat and plopped next to her.
"Kirara? Why is the sky blue?"
The cat, slightly agitated my being woken up, looked over at him.
"Mew."
Shippo rested his chin on his palms and looked towards the sky, that was so blue and it's clouds so fluffy.
"Fair enough."
Sometimes the simplest answers were the best ones.

Spur of the moment. Wouldn't leave me alone.
