Chapter 1:

The Girl

It has been a week since Shredder killed April O'Neil.

It was such a shock to Donatello.

It was more than he could bear.

April went walking with Casey Jones and they had a stalker behind them.

Shredder was watching April, hoping to capture her and use her for an experiment.

"What a lovely night," April said as she was walking with Casey.

"Yes it is," Casey replied. Casey had always had a humongous crush on April ever since they met.

April stopped in her tracks, "Casey, did you hear that?"

"No." Casey said with a frightened look on his face.

Shredder appeared from the darkness, "April O'Neil."

"Shredder," April muttered with anger, "Why are you here?"

"You have something that I want." Shredder replied.

"Well, you're not getting it." April took out her tessen, a metal fan that is the most used weapon of the female ninja.

"Now, you're coming with me, O'Neil. Don't give me any trouble." Shredder remarked.

"If you're going to kidnap me, then you'll get trouble." April said with a determined look on her face.

Shredder charged toward April, took out his sharp blades from his armor, and stabbed April through the heart.

"APRIL!" Casey screamed his lungs out.

Shredder disappeared into the darkness, leaving April's bloody body behind.

"I'LL GET YOU SHREDDER!" Casey cried his heart out. How would he tell Donnie?

"April, APRIL!" He screamed at her, but there was no response.

That night changed Donnie's life.

After he learned of April's death, he began cutting himself and crying himself to sleep.

He never left his room, never came out on missions, never talked to his brothers.

His heart was torn in half.

He had never told April how he felt, and now, she would never know.

He was too late.

"If Don still sulking?" Raph asked Mikey.

"Yeah," Mikey replied, "All of us are pretty upset, but Donnie is mostly the one who is broken in two."

"Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo." Master Splinter called his sons to attention.

Donnie finally came out of his room to join his brothers.

He had bruises and cut marks all over him.

"What is it, Sensei?" Leonardo asked.

"We have a special guest to replace the dear friend we have lost, my sons." Splinter replied.

A girl came from behind Splinter. She was medium height, had brown eyes, and was a bit shy.

"She came all the way from Japan to train with you, my sons. She left her sisters, and her home country. Please be kind to her, and make her feel at home. She will be staying with us for a long time."

Donnie turned away and muttered, "No one could replace April."

He went back into his room.

"Kon'nichiwa." The girl said.

"Hello," Leo replied, "I am Leonardo, but my brothers call me Leo. What's your name?"

"Talena," The mutant turtle said.
