"Name one thing. Just one. Nothing more, nothing less. One."
Uncertainty flickered in brown eyes. "Explain." The roughness of his own voice startled him.
"Name one thing…that I have done wrong." His expression melted into mocking sympathy; his eyebrows creased into a line; his mouth formed into a pout with the corner of his lips tugging at the smallest ghost of a smirk. "I'm waiting, Juudai."
His heart was exploding. "You hurt people," Juudai blurted out. "You hurt so many innocent people! You sent the school to a desert and forced the threat of starvation on the students in order to make them submissive to you! You manipulated countless of people for your own selfish reasons and then—then—tossed them aside when you're finished with them! You hurt—you killed my friends. How can you possibly say—?!"
"Hurt innocent people? My own 'selfish reasons'?" He chuckled, shaking a fringe of aquamarine hair out of his eyes. "You are truly a hero's paradigm."
He snarled. "…because you did hurt innocent people!" His breathing became hard and ragged. Fists clenched into tight balls at his side. "Why? Why did you do that? I'm the one you want—right, Yubel, right? So leave everyone else alone! I w-won't let you kill any more of my friends, understand?! LEAVE THEM ALONE!"
A beat.
His lips curved into a trace of an icy smile. "But Juudai…I haven't done a single thing to hurt anyone."
"...w-what?"
"That's right." Golden eyes widened in mock horror. "The bane of your 'friends' was entirely your fault."
Finale.
