Summary: Isaac paints a terrifying vision of the future, which has serious implications for Nathan and Peter

Chapter 1- Future Vision
Isaac Mendez was in his apartment in New York. He had been out of rehab now for six weeks and had been clean all of that time. Fortunately for him, his ability to paint the future hadn't suffered too much. However, not everything in his life had gone how he had wanted. Simone, the love of his life, had left him for Peter Petrelli.
Suddenly a vision came to him. He began to paint and it took him about twenty minutes. When he had finished he took a couple of steps back and stared at the painting. It was very detailed and he knew exactly what it showed. It was set four weeks in the future, at the election to reveal whether or not Nathan Petrelli had been successful in his bid for congress. There were a lot of people there, but all the painting showed were two people, Nathan and his brother Peter- his rival for Simone's affections.
They were inside and there had been a huge explosion, injuring several people. In the painting Peter was alive but Nathan was unconscious. Isaac knew exactly what this meant. Someone, he didn't know who, was plotting to cause an explosion at the election with the intention of killing Nathan. Isaac could only assume that the plot was by one of his political rivals who was determined to stop at nothing to prevent Nathan from being elected.
With only four weeks until the election time was not on Isaac's side. He knew he would have to do whatever it took to prevent this disaster from happening. He knew he would have to tell Peter and let him know. He picked up his mobile phone and dialled the number. The first time it went straight to voicemail, so Isaac kept trying. After a few tries, Peter answered: "Hello, is that Isaac". "Yes, this is me" Isaac replied "There is something I need to tell you, I need to meet with you as soon as possible; this is a matter of urgency". "I'll be there in ten minutes" Peter said before hanging up.
Sure enough, Peter was there ten minutes later. "I painted this just before I phoned you" Isaac said before unveiling his latest painting to Peter, who looked in sheer horror at what he could see. "What on earth is going to happen to me and my brother" he asked nervously, terrified of what he was about to here. Isaac explained every detail. "It happens in four weeks time at the election. Someone, I don't know who, is plotting to kill your brother and they don't mind who else they injure or kill at the same time. You need to get in touch with your brother and stop him from going to the election. In the meantime, we need to try and stop this plot from happening".
"How are we meant to stop a bomb plot from happening?" Peter asked. Isaac explained: "I know somebody who may be able to help us. His name is Hiro Nakamura; he can bend space and time. If he can teleport himself into the future he may be able to save your brother's life".
As soon as he left Isaac's apartment, Peter got straight on the phone to Nathan. He got his answer phone, as per usual, and left a message saying: "Nathan it's me, Peter, give me a ring as soon as you get this. We need to talk".
