Spoilers: None, though this does fit into my mental canon for Clint and Natasha. :)
Disclaimer: I'm a broke college student and I have no money, please don't sue.
A/N: Thanks to Black Widow and Hawkeye OTP for the prompt! The prompt was, "Natasha longing for Clint."
As always, I thank my Lord Jesus Christ for his incredible mercy and grace, and his many blessings.

Natasha Romanoff had been trained to be entirely independent. Other people had their uses, certainly, but they were unpredictable. Dangerous.
She'd never planned to rely on anyone but herself.
Nonetheless, when her probationary period with S.H.I.E.L.D. was over and she'd been assigned her first solo mission, she'd realized just how strange it seemed that Clint wasn't with her. She kept expecting to hear his voice over the comms, to feel his presence at her side.
She'd pushed the sensation away, of course, and done her job. But, when the mission was finished and the landing ramp of the jet lowered onto the Helicarrier's tarmac, she felt something almost like relief.
The sensation grew when she saw Clint standing a few yards away.
"Miss me?" he asked when she reached him.
"No," she said simply.
Clint just smiled and fell into step beside her, and for the first time since she'd left on the mission, something inside her uncoiled.
