Title: Dally By Cherry Valance

Summary: This is a poem about Dally. I'm so tired of reading these stories on here where he is treated like a creep. Anyone who has even seen the movie knows what he did for Johnny and Ponyboy. I don't think he was as 'difficult' as a lot of people seem to make him out to be.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything

Dally

Cherry Valance

I'm tired of hearing the whispers,

Now that he's gone they just won't stop,

People saying he deserved what he got,

Like it didn't matter that he even got shot,

I only met him once or twice,

And every time I did he didn't even come close to being nice,

But something I saw behind his eyes,

Told me it was only because he didn't try,

Even when he would almost make me cry,

I couldn't help but want his kiss,

It wasn't until now that I even knew why,

You see, I saw the way he was with his friends,

The way he fought for Johnny right to the end,

I saw his heart when he tried so hard to hide it,

So don't tell me how rough he was,

I could have fell in love with him because,

In spite of what they say he's someone I knew I could trust,

In the same breath that I would have loved him,

I probably would have hated him,

But every time I think of him I cry,

I'll always remember him,

Always and forever until the day I die.
