SUMMARY: Jones missed her everyday more and more.

WARNINGS: Spoilers for season one. Takes place around Withdrawal.

PAIRINGS: Jones/Cruz; Slight Neal/Lauren

When Lauren Cruz came to work and informed Clinton Jones that she was collecting her things and being transferred to another division, his heart broke a little.

Jones had never been in a real relationship for over a month. Whenever he was around Lauren though, he seemed to forget about that.

As time passed by, he grew jealous of Neal Caffrey. He could flash his pearly bright teeth and get any girl he wanted. All of those girls he could have, all except one girl, all except Lauren. She knew how to resist his charm somehow, but then she started to get hooked. They flirted in the office.

When Neal was arrested, Lauren's smile died away. When he was brought back into the FBI, she was all smiles all over again. She laughed with him and they smiled at each other.

"I'm being transferred into NYPD actually. It should be fun. I'll miss all the people here, especially Neal. He gives the office some smiles." She grinned, packing her things up on her desk.

Jones's heart broke. Only Neal? He thought to himself. "He does." He agreed, quietly.

She looked up at Jones, putting things into boxes. "I'll miss you a lot too. You always were my closest friend on this team. I'm actually upset that I can't go in the van anymore and play Tic-Tac-Toe with you." She laughed.

Jones smiled. "I think everyone will miss you. You always made us laugh with your jokes."

"NYPD probably won't be as much fun as the white collar division. The people here are much more interesting." She replied. "Hey. Just because I'm leaving doesn't mean we have to stop being friends. You should call me sometime. We should hang out. We could go to the movies or something."

Jones grinned at her. "I'd like that a lot." He said.

Lauren finished putting her belongings in boxes. "I'll be back over the next few weeks to get all of this transfer shit settled, but I'll see you around." She said, picking up her boxes.

"Let me help you with that." Jones offered, lifting one.

They walked out together and he helped her load her car. She turned to him and he opened the door for her. "Thanks. Hey, I'll see you around. Take care of yourself for now though." She patted his hand, kissed his cheek, got in her car, waved at him and pulled out.

When she was gone, Jones smiled to himself, victoriously. Score one for Jones.
