Beautiful

Ok. So the start doesn't sound like a Fairy tale but it will get better.

(I hope) Mix of many fairy tales not quite sure yet…and very short.

Beautiful. That's what they all said. Beautiful, with her long caramel

coloured hair and dazzling forget-me-not eyes, which lived up to their name

sake. Gracious, with her polite small talk and pleasing mannerisms. The

butter-would-not-melt look so exaggerated that Hitomi could not believe

that they did not see the pretence.

She was not just the jealous sister.Hitomi hated Emiko with a raw passion

that should be left for murders, wife-beaters and as her Mother had told her

(since she was just a few months old) tramps and beggars - the scum of the

Earth.

She hated everything about her. From the snide little looks she gave her

whilst walking pass thronged with her admirer's, (well, love is blind) to the

wasp-sting waist that almost made Hitomi hate herself more than Emiko.

Almost; but not quite. After all it was Emikos fault that she felt that way. If;

dare she think it? Emiko had never been born, she would have been

considered quite pretty, but as it stood she was forever in her shadow, the

slightly dumpy, younger sister of the mirage.

It was then that she realized that she had been standing, her mouth agape,

for sometime and her Mother was calling her. Struggling with the weight of

the coats she hung them as quickly as she could. Maybe she snagged a

button or two, but she didn't care. These people were rich enough not to

notice.

Hitomi ran as fast as she could stumbling down the steps and bursting into

the kitchen out of breath and flustered.

"You're late" said Mother.

Trying and failing to keep the anger out of her voice.

SMACK

The slap knocked her off balance and she fell to the floor. Within moments

however she was dragged back to her feet.

"The duck is in the oven…make sure you…I'm going out in a

minute…Here"

Mothers voice was light and cheery, she'd plonked a bowl in front of her

and was now instructing her how to make Miso soup. All memory of the

incident was forgotten. Then Mother was out of the door, off to buy more

ingreaents. Hitomi's cheek stung but she kept working methodically.

She hated Emiko but that was the bottom line. All she wanted after all was

to be loved.

The End of Chapter one

Be nice please…

But I'd rather get bad comments than none at all so…
