Marinette Dupain-Cheng smiled. She leaned against the window of her mom's car, thinking back to last year. She had been going to St. Francis Dupoint school for years, and, last year in 9th grade, the teacher had announced that their class had been chosen to go to the St. Francis Dupoint Boarding School of the Arts. Of course, everyone was excited. Remembering that day made Marinette smile even bigger. Marinette's best friend, Alya Cesaire, was carpooling and looked up from her phone.
"What are you smiling about?"
"Just thinking,"
Marinette promptly resumed staring out the window.
Alya returned to her phone.
Mrs. Dupain-Cheng smiled cheerfully. "We're here girls! Have fun!" She said, watching proudly as her daughter walked off. Marinette and Alya walked in to their classroom.
"Hey, look, we're the first ones here!" Marinette said excitedly. She knew late all too well, so this was a first.
"Or, we came so late that everyone has already left," Alya teased. Marinette rolled her eyes. Marinette sat down as Alya sat to the right of her. Then, Nino Lahiffe and his best friend, Adrien Agreste, walked in the classroom. Marinette and Alya were surprised when Adrien came in, as he was a model, and-between his Chinese, basketball, piano, fencing, photoshoots and super strict dad-they didn't think he could come. Yet there he was, sitting down to the left of Marinette. As more students began to file in, Marinette smiled.
This is gonna be a great year!
Author's Note: So, this was supershort and I just did it on the spot, so sorry if it's, like, weird. I liked the idea of Marinette and the others trying something new, so I moved the origins episode a few years back so that their age and grade would stay the same. Now, the gang is in tenth grade and at a school of the arts. Also, I forgot if it's
St. Francis Dupoint,
St. Francis Dupont,
Francis Dupoint or
Francis Dupont.
If you review, please include at least ONE good thing. Bye!
