Prologue:

April 2nd, Long Ago

My brother is out at war now. He's been out there for the past four years, and I haven't seen him since.

I am not like most children my age. My village is a serious and small one. There are no visitors, only about once every century. Other girls would be playing with dolls or helping their mothers sew at the age of seven, but I find sewing dull, plus I can read and write properly at this age.

Tomorrow marks the day I am seven. It also is the anniversary of when my brother went missing. He had been sent out at the war for a mission, seven days later they say he disappeared. Many tell me that he was captured by the enemy, or was murdered by the opposing village.

But they are wrong. I simply won't believe them.

This has been bothering me all day. So much that it's hard to write. But I have a feeling, and when I have a feeling they're never wrong. Tomorrow something will happen. Something…terrifying.

April 3rd, Long Ago

I was taken right; terror struck my village this day.

Now, my town has few visitors or newcomers that come to the village. But today a man came from the woods. I was out blossom picking, but I could see every single thing happening.

He walked up to the village, as if he were looking for someone. Then he did it. No one knows why, but he did. He stopped in front of each house of my fellow villagers, and cast a torch to them, one by one. I could hear the screaming of children and their parents. The man however, stopped at my house. Un-harming it, he walked inside then came out seconds later with my parents. I thought hew was going to spare their lives, but instead he took out the knife from his pocket and slaughtered them. Once I saw this, I dropped my basket and ran toward him. Blossoms were scattering in the wind for the last time.

He smiled at me, and I kept running toward him. Then he got on his knees and looked straight into my eyes.

"You'll be coming with me now, young girl," he commanded. For a second I hesitated, but then he grabbed my arm and ran into the woods.

"Where are we going?" I asked the man.

He stopped and turned to me, "We're going far away, so no one can find us." Then he grabbed my arm again and continued running to the center of the woods. There laid a pond, and he pushed me to the ground.

"Listen young girl; you knew nothing of that village, or those people. And if anyone asks you, you're a vigh…" he paused. "Got it?!" I stood up quickly and he led me to the other side of the lake.

Master, as I'd learned to call him, took me to a tree, that was hiding a small tent behind it. Pushing me inside, he threw a strange outfit to me, and ordered me to change into them. I stared puzzled at the clothing, and he closed the tent.

Minutes later I walked out of the tent with the clothing on.

"Good," said master, "Now let's go."

It was just at this moment I realized I was being kidnapped.
