Oikawa was coming around the corner when he stopped dead in his tracks. His eyebrows shot up and his eyes widened. He took a few steps back, to hide behind the corner and he peered around to watch the scene developing in front of his classroom.

The girl touched the boy's arm casually smiling warmly at him. They were apparently having a conversation, though Oikawa had to say he could barely recall ever seeing Iwaizumi talk to a girl unless he had to, much less make one smile like that. She laughed, then, at something he said. She laughed? Her hands moved to her mouth to muffle her loud laughter and she staggered back, leaning against the wall and one of her hands dropped to clutch her stomach from laughing too hard.

She was… laughing? Oikawa's brows furrowed together in confusion.

This girl had a crush on Iwaizumi, he realized. It's not that he didn't adore Iwaizumi, it's just that he wasn't a particularly funny person so a crush was the only reasonable explanation. How strange though. Iwaizumi often avoided girls who had a crush on him – and he was far too perceptive to not notice she was flirting with him.

Iwaizumi was gesturing with his hands now, a grin spreading over his features as he threw his arms in the hair, seemingly mimicking something.

Oikawa's eyes narrowed at the scene. Was it possible that…he liked her too? No, he shook his head abruptly. It couldn't be, he hadn't said anything. Unless… Unless Iwaizumi was afraid this girl would fall for him if she met him!

Of course, he concurred with himself. Everything was starting to make sense now!

Oikawa watched as they interacted with each other, the smiles, the comfortable touches… and he smirked. They might've already been dating for a while, he realized. Flashbacks of Iwaizumi texting way too much lately crossed his mind and it all made sense now.

He stood straighter and leaned back against the wall, crossing his arms in front of his chest. Still, he felt a little hurt that Iwaizumi hadn't said anything. They were best friends! If Iwaizumi had told him he liked this girl, then Oikawa obviously wouldn't have flirted with her, or even talked to her if he'd ask him not to.

Perhaps… He should go introduce himself. Right now.

Oikawa ran his fingers through his hair, adjusted his uniform and bent the corner, strolling through the hallways as gracefully and glamorously as he knew how.

"Hey hey, Iwa-chan," Tooru greeted with a friendly but harmless tight-lipped smile. "I thought we were going to study Math at lunch time," he commented, taking a quick glimpse sideways at the girl. Small, cute and enthusiastic, he mused. Although he didn't quite recognize her… a first year, maybe?

Iwaizumi's eyes darted between the girl and him, speechless for a moment. He had him now. Would he ignore her presence or would he introduce her to Oikawa?

"But maybe you'd rather have lunch with your girlfriend…." Oikawa wiggled his eyebrows at him.

"Girlfriend?" Iwaizumi's brows furrowed together and his eyes shot to the girl before returning to his. "Oikawa, this—

"Yes, the girlfriend you conveniently forgot to tell me about, Iwa-chan! I know," he said, crossing his arms in front of his chest, feigning hurt. What excuses would he come up with now, Oikawa wondered.

Iwaizumi rolled his eyes and let out a sigh. "You know, if you payed attention to what other people said you'd remember I said my cousin was transferring to Seijoh."

Oikawa's eyebrows shot up. Oh… Yes, Iwaizumi had mentioned that, hadn't he? Oikawa flashed the girl a grin. "Hi, I'm Oikawa Tooru," he said smoothly proceeding as if the whole girlfriend misunderstanding had never happened.

"Also known as the most idiot, self-centered ass you'll ever meet," Iwaizumi mumbled back.
