Remember
Draco remembered. He remembered when he was young. When he was in love. He would sit for hours getting drunk on memories, Trying to love in the past.
The past. Where everything is golden and covered in sugar. Where you didn't have to face the sadness. Where there was a chance for a better tomorrow.
Draco remembered the times, he and Ginny, the love of his life, would laugh and ignore everything but what was going on inside their little bubble of love. He remembered the way the used to walk. The way they used to laugh at the smallest little things. She had taught him how to love. She had taught him to love.
He took a sip from the glass in front of him. He tasted the sugary taste of Bacardi. That was another way he would remember. This way he would remember. This way he would remember little details of long ago. He took another sip and remembered the day he first noticed her.
***FLASH BACK***
Draco is walking down the hallway without his bodyguards, Crabbe and Goyle. He had just broken up with his girlfriend, Tricia. He is thinking of all the new people he'll get to meet and all the new choices he has when he slams into a person.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" the girl says. The girl has shoulder length scarlet hair, eyes the color of melted caramel and a pretty smile.
"Its ok..." mutters Draco, unable to take his eyes off of her. He didn't know who she was, but she was pretty.
The girl smiles and turns away
***End Flashback***
Draco sighed. He wished he could go back to those days. The days of innocence and happiness. He drained his glad and remembered some more.
***Flashback***
Draco walks around the tower, making sure everything is in place. Flowers carefully hide the magical stereo. The table is in the center of the tower and the many candles in the room are flickering cheerfully.
A soft knock is heard and Ginny enters wearing a black mini and a white shirt with black boots. Her hair is down and she has a bit of makeup on.
A genuine smile appears on Draco's face. "Do you want to dance?"
'Sure why not?"
They start to dance.
***End Flashback***
Draco drained his 2nd glass. Already, his vision was starting to blur. Draco remembered how Ginny had suddenly started lying and how she had stopped laughing. He remembered sadly how she had lost the gleam in her eyes.
***Flashback***
"Ginny... You okay?' Draco asks, not bothering to hide the worry from his voice.
"What...yeah...I'm fine." Answers Ginny, not meeting his eyes.
***End Flashback***
"Ginny? Is that you?" Draco exclaimed. He was sure that was her hair. He was sure that he saw her hair glittering in front of him. He reached out to touch its soft beauty.
As he was about to touch her hair, it went up in a wisp. Draco knew now what it was. It was a memory.
Ginny was gone. She had drowned herself in the Great Lake, 2 days before her graduation ceremony. Everyone was shocked, because they didn't know why she did that. Harry and Ron had blamed Draco, accusing him of being 'involved' with her suicide. Hermione didn't blame Draco. She was too upset that her friend had died.
He remembered this all too well. He remembered the tears he had shed, the days that had passed in shock and silence, the days that had led to confusion and him wondering why was he still on earth. He remembered all too well.
He wished he didn't remember...
