The war was over, and it was time for peace, Simba thought sadly. It shouldn't have ended that way, Zira shouldn't have had to die in order for everyone to know how wrong their fighting was.

We are one.

Every morning he'd wake up and as he'd take a walk out to see his Kingdom, he'd be greeted by the back of Vitani and her mother's old followers. Every day he'd see more and more lions joining his own pride inside pride rock, but there always stood one outside.

"Hey there," He said sitting down next to do the muddy blonde lioness, "Mind if I talk to your for a second?" Vitani turned and watched Simba with her blue eyes, "about?" She hissed softly

"Vitani," he said slowly, "no matter what you learned, I am not your enemy." Simba got up and started walking. At first he wasn't sure if she'd follow him, but the soft patter of paws behind him showed that she did.

"Have you ever met your father?" Vitani walked silently next to Simba as they passed the high grasses of the pride land, "No," she said quietly.

"You were a cub when your mother was banished, Your father died when Nuka was born." Vitani made a small sound. "Your father was a …bad ruler," Simba said softly. Vitani growled at Simba, jumping to land in front of the older lion, "You know nothing about my father. He was a smart and brave Lion."

Simba felt his heart drop, how could this lioness be so…poisoned. Although he remembered when he told Kovu the story, Kovu had been poisoned as Vitani had.

"I'll show you," Simba said simply bringing her to the old remains of the pride lands. Vitani recognized this place where they ambushed Simba and Kovu.

"Your father was my uncle, Vitani. He's was the second born and…my father became king. It's the rule of the land," Simba planted his rump on the ground as his eyes traveled to the Lionesses where she stood in a protective stance. "He killed my father right in front of me. His crown was stolen. He starved our pride during the dry season, refusing to truly look after those in the pride. All he cared about was himself."

This roused another growl from Vitani; Simba shook his head out of it. "He was a king with evil intention." He nodded to the bare land around them, "This is his fault."

Simba's paw dug into the earth, unearthing a small green plant, "but we can re-build this place." His eyes returned to the Lioness, "it will take time to…detoxic your mind, Vitani, but...I'm not your enemy. Your father was the reason your mother was so….misguided, and I don't want you to judge me before you heard the story."

Vitani stopped, "You know Simba," she said softly, "If I had heard this part of the story….thing might've been different between us."
