A/N: I've just been itching to write lately, but I haven't been able to come up with any good ideas. So, now that I finally have one, here's my fic. Why don't I continue a story I've already started, you ask? Well, because I'm a procrastinator. And I just don't wanna. Here goes....

Disclaimer: I do not own Fran Fine, Maxwell, Maggie, Brighton, and/or Grace Sheffield. Nor do I own CC Babcock or Niles or any other of 'The Nanny' characters including but not limited to Sylvia or Morty Fine, or Colin.

Missing You

BEEP...

BEEP...

BEEP...

What's going on?

"Niles... You've got to wake up, Niles..."

Miss Babcock?

"C'mon, Niles. Please wake up..."

As Niles' eyes fluttered open, he realized a few things fairly quickly:

1. He was in the hospital.

2. Babcock was sitting in a chair next to him in pajamas.

3. They were pajama shorts, and a T-Shirt.

4. She's never looked better.

"Niles!" She quietly exclaimed.

CC immediately stood up and hugged him. "I'm so glad you're awake."

He grinned at her smile and replied, "Me too."

She laughed, and tears began to fall down her face.

"Hey, hey... Tears? CC Babcock doesn't cry..." He told her, reaching up to catch the water droplets with his thumb.

When she just continued crying, he scooted over on his bed, and patted the space he left for her.

"I really should call the doctor and let him know that you're awake... I shouldn't-"

"-Sit." He told her, and hesitantly, she obeyed.

For a few moments, they just stared at each other. Then, suddenly, CC grabbed Niles' face with both of her hands.

His rough hands came around, and he put them over her soft ones. "I'm fine. I'm alright."

She nodded sadly, "Yes. But you weren't. You've never passed on a 'Don't make me get ugly.' line, Niles. Never."

He sighed, "Well after seeing you in these shorts," He fingered her pajama shorts, "I'll have to pass on almost all of them."

She blushed deeply.

"Why are you embarrassed?" He asked. "You're a beautiful woman. You're tall, and-"

"-Fat." She finished.

He shook his head, "Perfectly rounded in all of the right places. You're perfect, CC. And I never should've told you you were ugly. Never."

CC laughed nervously, "Niles. You aren't acting like yourself at all."

He gazed at her. "I know I'm not. But, the heart attack just made me realize that I shouldn't hold things back anymore. Earlier, I was afraid I was going to die without telling you important things."

"Like what?" She whispered.

"Like how even though I constantly make jokes about your body, I think you're stunningly beautiful. And how I'm sorry for all of the mean things I've ever said to you. And how you constantly surprise me with your confidence and your achievements. And how even though you don't have to work you do. Because you love what you do, and you wouldn't ever give it up." He paused momentarily, and took a strand of her hair in between his fingers. "And how everyday you amaze me with your beauty, your sharp tongue, and your determination. Thomas Edison once said, 'If we all did the things we are really capable of doing... we would literally astound ourselves.' And I truly believe that. Because you astound me, CC. Everyday."

She smiled at him, and then asked. "Can we... try and be friends?"

He looked confused, so she elaborated. "I mean, I want to try and.... and build a relationship with you, but could we start as friends first? I just don't want to rush into it."

He nodded, "That's fine with me." He smiled, and pulled her back into him. "Lay with me, Love. Don't go."

CC nodded, "I'm never going anywhere again."
