Claire rubbed Leon's back and let her hand rest on his shoulder which she gave a gentle squeeze, her little way of expressing her fondness for him as a husband and father without explicitly saying it. Lane sat on her father's shoulders and tenderly touched his cheek, laughing at how funny his face felt from not shaving for two days. Leon looked up and beamed at his little princess and held her shins to make sure she didn't slip off as they walked back to their car. Claire smiled and knew that this happiness, this joy with her husband, best friend, one companion, and her pride and joy, her daughter, were the two good things that came out of the Umbrella atrocities. She would go through all of it again too, if it meant having Leon and Lane by her side. She thought how funny they looked though. Like every other white upper middle class couple that adopted a baby from some country in Asia. Very stereotypical she thought. Very normal. But the way the Kennedy's got Lane in their life was anything but normal.
