On the outskirts on the eastern border of the Empire, a temporary camp for
followers of the Raven God had been established. Inside a wooden longhouse dedicated
to He Who Sees All, a magus, floating on top of his Disc, plotted. It had been a full week
since he encountered an envoy from a Dark Elf Sorceress. The Envoy spoke of a
powerful artifact, a ring in fact, that the Sorceress wanted for her own gains. "This ring
lies with great treasures," said the envoy, "treasures that you yourself may use to further
influence." What did this upstart know about influence? The Raven God had granted him
gifts, gifts of true power, as well as a disc to serve as his familiar. But, the chance to find
artifacts of power which would appease the great eye was a chance the Magus would
take. After a few more minutes of brooding, his visitor finally entered the longhouse. It
was the Marauder champion, and he was a well built warrior, ready to kill in the name of
their god. The warrior bellowed "Karash, are you still brooding over what that feeble
cretin had told you?" "Calm down champion, we are blessed by the great one, and it is
his way to use others so that we may continue on our goal. However, we must not turn
down an opportunity to weaken our enemies. While we talk now, I am interrupting the
dreams of a shaman in the tribe of Orcs which will soon be our allies. These greedy fools
will gladly serve us for spoils of war, not to mention that the first collection of artifacts is
in the holds of their nemeses, the dwarves. When the Orcs accept our alliance, the dark
elves, the Orcs, and we shall host the Vanguard of the Void. Against a united front, our
enemies will quake in fear as we approach." The Marauder shook his head. He did not
see why Karash would go through such lengths to use those greenskins, let alone to
follow the word of a Dark Elf. But, Karash was the head Magus of this warband, and left
it to him to plot and devise how to best weaken their opponents. All he knew is that the
Raven God was looking down upon them, and that when battle was joined, he would
earn many more gifts with which to bring ruin to those who opposed the Great Eye.
