Chapter 1
Her suitcase was packed, her passport in hand. She was ready to go.
Lena grabs the handle and rolls her suitcase behind her, "I'm leaving!" she yells as she opens the front door.
"Wait!" Sarah, her mother, comes to find her. "You sure you have everything?"
Lena sighs, "I'm 100% sure."
Sarah's eyes begin to water.
"You promised you wouldn't cry!"
"I'm sorry, I can't help it." Sarah wipes her eyes with the corner of her sleeve, "I'm going to miss my favorite daughter."
"Hey! I heard that!" Amber comes in. "Thanks Mom."
"You know I'm just kidding." Sarah smoothes Amber's gelled hair, "Where's Drew?"
"He's talking with Dad." Amber informs.
"Oh." Sarah nods. She still was a tad uneasy when it came to Seth. After the divorce they seemed to see less of him.
"Go get Drew and tell him I'm leaving." Lena urges Amber.
Amber drags her black booted feet against the hardwood flooring.
"Hurry!" Lena prompts.
"I'm going, I'm going." Amber picks up the pace.
"She's such a weirdo." Lena comments.
"Leave her alone, she's only thirteen. She's going through a tough time." Sarah explains, "Beside, you're the only one here that knows all the drama about me and your father."
"Sorry to admit it but...mostly the reason I'm leaving is because of my father."
"But Greece? You can't pick anywhere closer."
"Mom, relax, the girls and I going to be safe."
"You better. Call everyday and send lots of postcards!" Sarah demands.
Drew and Amber met their sister and mother near the front door.
"Bye guys." Lena wraps her arms around the two. "I'm going to miss you guys."
"I'm going to miss you too!" Drew hugs her tighter.
"Me too." Amber agrees, "But can I have your room?"
"Amber!" Sarah warns.
"What? She going to be for two months!"
"Enough." Sarah puts an end to the conversation. She turns her attention back to her eldest daughter, "Goodbye Dear, call us when you get to the airport."
"I will. Bye guys!" Lena rolls her suitcase to her car before getting into the driver's side and pulling out of the drive way.
Amber, Drew, and Sarah watch as the blue Sedan disappears down the street.
