Prompt: writing christmas cards
Usagi sneaked into the apartment.
Dear Jadeite,
thank you for helping Mamoru this year with the stress of his exams.
I know you've always been there to cheer him up.
You make our lives brighter.
Merry Christmas!
Usagi
She tiptoed through the apartment. She could have been marching through with a brass band, and noone would have heard it, as Mamoru's neighbors weren't usually home at that time. But she was planning a surprise after all, she felt like being sneaky.
Dear Nephrite,
thank you for helping Mamoru this year with his health.
I know you've always been there to motivate him to exercise.
You make our lives safer.
Merry Christmas!
Usagi
Slowly, she opened the door to the living-room.
Dear Zoisite,
thank you for helping Mamoru this year with his schedule.
I know you've always had an eye on his plans and time tables.
You make our lives saner.
Merry Christmas,
Usagi
There it was, as Mamoru had promised, a tree to put their presents under. It was a pretty tree, and big enough to reach the ceiling. It wasn't overloaded with glittery stuff as the tree at the Tsukino household, mostly there were bows and candles on the branches. Usagi first thought the colors were somewhat random, until she realized a pattern - red, blue, blue, purple, pink, blue, blue, black, pink and crimson. She counted the bows to make certain, and suddenly, something bothered her. She took a chocolate coin in a golden wrapper out of the pocket of her jacket, and carved the symbol for earth into the soft aluminum with a pencil. The she hung it into the tree.
Dear Kunzite,
thank you for helping Mamoru this year with all his highs and lows.
I know you've always been pushing him through when times were rough.
You make us and our lives better.
Merry Christmas!
Usagi
She had to look around to find what she had come for. For a moment, she was worried Mamoru would have put it away. But then she remembered he had mentioned that the last thing he had done yesterday had been decorating the tree, and yes, between half empty candle boxes was a small wooden chest. She took it up and placed it under the tree. Then she took the four cards out of her pocket and slipped them under the box. Her hand stayed on the lid for a bit longer.
"Merry Christmas, Shitennou," she whispered.
Then she dashed out of the apartment again.
