Chapter 1 (Last Year)
The major focus of this chapter is Seth, Jessica, Natalie, Sabrina and Keith. After this Sabrina and Keith are never mentioned again.
Karla was really getting pissed. This park group was supposed to be perfect. (At my high school we have a room group and a park for Spring Trip.) Three of her favorite people were in her group. She was walking around with her older "brother". But, noooo. He had to be in the process of breaking up with Jessica. 'God, what a mess.' Karla thought. It was bad enough that Seth, her older brother, and Jessica were breaking up. But, it was a horrible break-up, and she was in the middle. This was mostly because Seth would bitch about Jessica, and Jessica would bitch about Seth, and they both bitched to her. To make matters worse, Sabrina was hugely flirting with Seth, who was flirting back, no matter what he said. Earlier, Sabrina had been flirting with Keith. Natalie, on the other hand, was still half in love with Keith, despite having broken up 5 months ago. 'Ugh,' thought Karla, 'Why is Seth flirting with that slut Sabrina?' As you may have guessed, Karla couldn't stand Sabrina. Then, to make matters worse, Jessica starting flirting with Keith. This made Natalie very upset. Quick recap. Seth is dating Jessica, but flirting with Sabrina. Sabrina had been flirting with Keith, who was now flirting with Jessica. Natalie was pissy because she still loved Keith. Got it? Good. Now, while all this was going on, Karla is thinking, 'Someone get me a gun. I'm going to kill all of them and put me out of my misery.' However, individually, each of them was wonderful. Later, after the band was home, Jessica told Karla that Seth and she had broken up that past Sun. Karla was upset, but she had been predicting it for a month at that point. When Karla told Seth what Jessica had told her, Seth was surprised. 'Oh shit.' thought Karla, 'Now I've done it.' To this day, Seth swears that his and Jessica's breakup was that slut Sabrina's fault. But, Karla knew that if he and Jessica had gotten over their dumbass stupidity and talked to each other, they would have lasted longer.
