Cliffs were always her favourite place to stay, besides hot springs. She especially loved the one overlooking the ocean. It always fascinated her, the transition from rock to water, two completely different elements, standing beside each other without trouble.
She said it reminded her of people she knew.
And sitting on the edge of the cliff, despite warnings, staring at the setting sun, she said that it reminded her of someone so vibrant, so unbelievably sweet and kind, that when she died, her carer, one of the most emotionless creatures to ever be borne to the earth, howled her name to the moon in anguish.
And once the sun had set, she used to stare at the moon, remembering a time when a man who embodied it in every way used to roam the lands, searching for the one who would help him move on.
Then she used to look at the stars, and see how they shined brightly, and tell tales of a woman who was her guiding star in hard times, a woman who loved a man who was misguided, and did not see her love for a long while, he was the night sky.
She would sit there all night, just remembering.
She said that the wind spoke of a man, a man who tried to take something that wasn't his, even though he had something that would serve him better, and that the trees told her of a woman who tried to stay true, but lost her way.
The cliff was a rock, like a woman she once knew, that woman was her rock, holding her in place, but that woman died after leading a long life.
They were nothing to the fact that every time she looked around this cliff, she said the whole thing reminded her of one man, the man she loved.
But the man she loved did not return her feelings.
No, he loved the trees, and hated the moon with a passion, and that was good friends with the night sky, even if he did not always show it, but most of all, he did not notice her, he never saw her.
And so the day she became the sea the cliff towered above, was the day she left him a message:
Do you notice me now?
AN: It's Dave this time. I was feeling kind of weird today, and I just suddenly thought of this. And once I thought of it, I just couldn't let it go. So I wrote it and posted it, I dont need any reviews or anything.
