My Star
I'm Taniyama Mai and I'm 19. I'm at work doing hell of a lot of filing. I'm always wondering when the pile will ever stop.
It's now 7 at night and I am exhausted. Thinking though out the day I noticed that Naru hasn't even asked for tea today! All of a sudden I heard a door close, I turned around and found Naru looking at me, smiling. Yes, smiling. I looked at my narcissist boyfriend. Yes he is my boyfriend, we've been dating for 2 years and everyday he's starting to open up to me. Any ways back to where I was I saw Naru smiling at me and I couldn't help but smile back. Without even noticing he was now standing in front of me and taking my hand. "Come, I want to show you something" Naru said still smiling and I obeyed and followed him out the door.
We are in the car and it was silent but it was comfortable. I didn't know where we were going, I kept wondering. I turned to Naru and he seemed happy, he was still smiling. When he noticed that I was looking at him he turned to me and gave me a cloth. "Put it on around your eyes"
"Why?" When he said to put the cloth around my eyes I had so many questions going through my head. "It's a secret, you'll find out later, think of it as a surprise," he said and I obeyed and put the cloth around my eyes.
Later I felt the car suddenly stop. So many questions were still going through my head. Naru left the car and opened me side door. He took my hand and I let him lead me the way. When we stopped he took my blindfold off and to my amazement we were on a hill that looked over the city and looking up I saw so many stars. "This place is beautiful! So many stars! How did you find this place?" I couldn't stop smiling. Naru seemed happy. I couldn't help but come over to him and kiss him. I was so happy, I don't know why I'm this happy but I am! I stood there and watched the city and stars and soon enough Naru hugged me from behind, his chin on my shoulder. "Naru, thank you. Look this may sound weird but I want to be a star. A star that shines brightest."
"Mai, you are a star, you're my star, and you're the brightest star I've ever seen," Listening to those words made me cry with tears of joy, especially when it came from Naru. "Mai," I turned around. Naru let go of me and he put one of his hands and his pockets. When he took his hand out I saw a small box in his hand. He knelt down and opened the box and there was a ring that was very beautiful. More tears came out of my eyes, I couldn't believe this is happening. "Mai will you… marry me?" I smiled with tears still coming down my face. He smiled back and I said….
"Yes"
