A/N: This is my first PoI fic and I wrote it on a whim. It's very short but if you read it, I hope you like it.
The moment Reese saw Carter as a woman.
Scent of a Detective
"When our race rises…" the Behemoth said.
Then suddenly the Behemoth was falling to his knees. Yes, Behemoth was kicking his rear end but in reality he was "just resting".
He looked up to see who his savior was.
There she was gun in hand and a slight grin on her face. She looked so womanly doing such an unwomanly thing… and of all the moments he could have noticed, this was the moment, the first time he consciously took note that she was a woman… of course he knew all along she was a woman but that night, that moment he saw her as a woman, appreciated her as a delicate woman.
Carter was strong. Carter was fierce. He liked that about her.
Strong but soft, fierce but delicate. He realized he liked that even more.
What a contradiction she was… the detective, the soldier, the mother… the woman.
"I've been meaning to get these back to you" she said as she handed him the bag of weapons he gave her months ago.
"Thanks" he said as he looked at this detective, this soldier, this mother, this woman.
Then it hit him… her scent, her perfume. He had been close to Carter many times but this time his nostrils responded to her scent. Like her, it was strong but soft, fierce but delicate. Like her standing with gun in hand rescuing him, her scent drove home the fact that she was a woman, a strong, soft, fierce, delicate woman.
Her scent was subtly pleasing to his senses.
He refused to let his eyes leave her face. He knew she had woman curves, nice woman curves and now that he finally appreciated her not as a detective, not as a soldier, not as a mother but as a woman there was no need to get distracted by those curves… not now at least especially when he was fighting the distraction her scent was causing him.
Her scent would stay with him. It would float up his nostrils and make him take notice every time he stood next to her, every time she was near. And every time he stood next to her, every time she was near, her scent would subtly please him and remind him that the detective, the soldier, the mother was above all a woman, a woman he found very pleasing.
