"So," I said as I snaked my arms around Edward's cool, solid body, "What are we going to do tonight? Charlie has finally stopped looking at me like I've just plunged a knife through him and I don't think he'll mind too much if we spend the next twenty-four hours enjoying each other's company." We were in front of his Volvo, parked in the drive of Charlie's house.

Charlie was having a hard time dealing with out engagement, he seemed to hate the idea of us being wed even more than I did when Edward first made it a condition of our trade. He refused to speak to Edward and insisted that he was no good for me and I would be so much better off leaving him and going off to college alone. I even suspect that Charlie quietly threatened to kill Edward if he ever tried hurt me or push me into anything that I wasn't ready for. Not that Edward would admit this to me.

I wish that I could have eased my parents in to the idea of their only child getting married to a man, though they saw him as a mere boy, who had once broken her heart. Unfortunately My self imposed time limit would not allow for it.

The corner of Edward's mouth lifted, "Well it's a good thing he's finally accepting it or we might have to find a replacement to walk you down the aisle next week."

"I think that would push him to commit homicide and I really don't want my father trying to kill you on the day of our wedding."

"Of course, that would mean we may have to postpone the wedding and you would have to suffer Alice's planning all over again."

"Ugh!" Alice really could be unbearable at times. Only last week I had needed to cancel a troop of Russian acrobats that she had hired as entertainment for the reception, just after I vetoed her idea of inviting some obscure African royal that she had met ten years ago while she was pursuing a career as a freelance photographer.

At the very least I was glad that she wasn't going o have the opportunity to hire a wedding band, no doubt she would have made me listen to a short list of about twenty-five bands. My Edward, as my mind claimed him now, was going to be in charge of all of the music and seems to have had the playlist planned out for much longer than our short engagement. "I'm glad that it will all be over in a week, I couldn't stand it any longer. All I want is for it to be just me and you." I sighed at the pleasant thought.

Edward squeezed me tighter, "For all of eternity, my love." He kissed the top of my head and held my door open for me before going around the car to the driver's side to enter himself. " I promise by the end of next week it will be official that nothing in existence, now or ever will ever tear us apart." He started the engine and began what appeared to be the journey to his house and I noticed that he'd never answered my question about his plans for tonight. Edward continued, "But unfortunately tonight there is one incredibly annoying little vampire who plans to do just that, so please don't hate me for delivering you to her and try to enjoy your hen's night."

I turned to glare at him, "You tricked me! You know it's not too late for me to come good on that angry grizzly threat."

He laughed quietly to himself. "It's not funny!" I objected, "Well if I have to suffer through this, do you have some similar form of torture awaiting you?"

"Actually I do believe that my brother's have something planned but they have been blocking their thoughts all day so it's bound to be interesting."

"I hope they torture you."

"That's okay, I foresee that you will kiss him all better." Suddenly Alice was at by my side, having opened the passenger side door. I hadn't even noticed we had arrived at our destination.
