Drabble title credit goes to DHLANE and her lovely review

I look at her, really look at her, and what I see amazes me.

She bites her lip, blinks her eyes, and breathes in as if the world is beautiful. I do all those things as if I'm just passing the time. How can she be so different from me? I'm human with blood and hair and homeostasis, and she's a... goddess.

No that's the wrong word. You're supposed to say she's human too.

She's human too.

So how does her existence have so much more meaning than mine? How can she walk into a room and, without even acknowledging them, make everyone want to live another day? It doesn't make any sense.

Or maybe it's not everyone who is affected this way by her.

Shit.

I'm going to focus on how I can breathe in and make the world a better place. I bet there is some girl out there trying to get over me. Oh wait, I don't want her to get over me. I need her as a distraction, a diversion from this monster that is... smiling at me.

She's smiling at me.

Why am I caring? I don't care if she smiles at me and starts to walk over here; or if she sits down across from me to start a conversation. Not caring one bit about what she says. That's an interesting bird over there; I wonder if it's a blue...

"Woud you like to hang out or something this Friday night?"

Did I just say that?

Well, so much for not caring.
