"Then why can't we tell people? We can tell them all tonight at dinner."
" Why can't we just wait three more months?" She had thought she had already settled the dispute by setting the announcement for after graduation. Obviously not.
"Because I'm tired of seeing all these twats with their hands all over you! It pisses me off that they hug you longer than they need to, or when they try staring at your bum when you walk by." Hermione sighed and sat down on the couch in their shared common room.
"Please, Draco. Can we just wait?"
"Why?" Draco roared at her. He instantly regretted it when he saw her eyes tear up.
"It's because of those other Slytherins! They'll hate you and make your life miserable! All because of me. I won't let that happen." She shouted back and jumped to her feet. Her hands were clenched almost painfuly at her sides.
"Hermione, I-"
"No, just don't say anything. I'm going down to dinner. I'll see you later. Just think about it. Please." She gave him a quick peck on his stunned lips and rushed from the room.
Hermione tuned Harry and Ron's voices from her head as she ate, only to be pulled from her thoughts by the loud bang of the Great Hall doors being forcefully
slammed open. The hall became silent as they watched Draco Malfoy stalk toward the Gryffindor table. Hermione squeezed her eyes shut and prayed he wasn't
about to do what she thought he was going to do.
"Granger, this will be a lot easier if you open your eyes." He snapped.
She tried getting up and leaving but he caught her around the waist. Before she could put up a fuss he covered her lips with his. He pulled away with a
smirk and turned to address the hall the stunned hall.
"And no one forget it!"
