Chapter One: No Longer Just A Farm Girl
(Alright, so I decided to re-write the Link and Malon series, I recently found my passion for the series and i'm once again inspired. This next week will be a lot of writing. I have to study a bit for my exams so sorry for that but other than that, everything will be about this.)
Link just got out of Jabu-Jabu's Belly and felt like seeing his childhood friend, Malon. Malon was over grooming Epona and singing a song her mother taught her. Link walked up to the ranch and epona immediately ran over to him along with Malon.
"Where have ya been?" Malon asked.
"I just came back from the Zoras' Domain," Link answered.
"I heard it's beautiful there!" Malon said in awe.
"Yeah, it's definitely something," link replied.
Link and Malon walked around and continued to talk more and more. Then Ingo came out.
"Who is he?" Ingo said with an angry tone.
"It's Link, he's my friend, you've met him before," Malon said while here voice was cutting in and out.
"I told you no more visitors!" Ingo yelled.
"I'm sor-" Malon cried back before being cut off.
"Leave this farm, Now!" Ingo said while running to hit her.
Link jumped in front of her to stop from making contact and took his hit at full force. Malon and Link started to walk off the farm.
"You didn't have to do that for me," Malon said with a sad tone
"I wanted to, you're my friend," Link replied.
Malon let out a little smile and she continued to walk.
"So, since I don't really have anywhere to go, can i please come with you?" Malon asked
"Come with me? To where?" Link asked back.
"Well you goto a lot of place and don't really stay in one place for too long, and I don't have a place to live now so," Malon said sadly
"Well, I guess you're right, it's settled then, you can come!" Link said with a smile, "Our first destination is the Temple of Time."
The two made their way across Hyrule Field and eventually arrived at the temple.
"Wow it's big!" Malon said excitedly, "What are we doing here though?"
"The Great Deku Tree told me something about the 3 stones and a pedestal, so we're going to check it out!" Link replied
"Oh wow!" Malon said amazed.
They continued to walk through out the temple and found the pedestal that the Great Deku Tree spoke of.
"What now?" Malon asked
"Just put the stones on it and see what happens I guess" Link said nervously.
Link got the stone and placed them on the pedestal, but nothing happened.
Malon started clapping, "Wow!" Malon said sarcastically.
"Calm down, there's another step," Link said with a smile.
Link walked over to the Triforce crest on the ground and pulled out his ocarina. He played a song that Malon often heard while delivering milk. After he finished the song, the door behind the pedestal opened up and the triforce above it lit up.
Malon looked in awe as she has never seen anything like this happen before. Link and Malon and Link walked through the doorway and seen a sword sticking out from below the ground.
"That's the Master Sword!" Navi yelled
"What's tha-" Malon stopped talking after seeing the expression on Link's face. Link walked up to sword and grabbed the handle, a blue light faintly glowed from it.
"Um, doesn't this seem kind of dangerous?" Malon asked out of fear for both Link and Herself. Link started to pull the sword from the floor and Malon got worried so she got behind him, suddenly. A blue beam of light shot up around them.
"Link! What's happening!" Malon screamed.
There was a flash of light then blackness.
"Link, can you hear me?" A voice said, "Link"
Link opened his eyes and stood up to see an old man.
"Link, you have been sent here on a mission. Listen to what i'm about to tell you," the voice said, "I am Rauru, I am the sage of light."
"Where's Malon?" Link asked
"The girl you were with is safe," Rauru calmly told Link, "Your destiny has brought you here, for you are the hero of time." Link looked up questioning.
"You are going on a journey to revive the other sages, it will not be easy but it is your mission." Rauru told Link about the story of the goddesses and Ganondorf, "You must first go to the Forest temple, there will lead you to the rest of your journey."
"I understand" Link replied.
"Hello, Malon" a sweet voice said.
"Who, are you?" Malon asked
"I am the goddess Hylia, I am here to speak to you about your future." Hylia told Malon about the task of finding the sages. "It is your choice to go on this quest, if you choose to not go, you will be returned to your normal life before entering the te-"
"I want to go!" Malon said loudly, cutting off Hylia.
"As you wish, for your journey, you will need a weapon. This is a sword I once used to fend off evil, this is the Goddess Sword." Hylia continued to explain its power.
"Understood!" Malon said with a smile.
"Very well," Hylia said gracefully, "May your adventures bring good fortune."
Malon woke up laying on the floor to the temple, she didn't notice anything unusual… until she looked at herself. She had the body of an adult woman, Malon was wearing cloth surrounding her waist going down to halfway down her thigh and mor cloth around her now bigger breast. She looked at Link and he was only wearing a cloth made into shorts. Link was much taller now, his body was chiseled, his face was strong, he looked all around more like an adult as well.
"Link, wake up!" Malon was yelling quietly while shaking Link.
Link half opened his eyes to see Malon's new body, not knowing who it was, he backed up in a panic. "M-Malon? Is that you?!" Link was shocked
"Big change, huh?" Malon said with a nervous, cutting laughter.
Link felt kind of warm what he didn't know why.
"So, what now?" Malon asked Link
"Go to Kakariko Village and get some information on what happened,'' Link replied.
"That's a good idea!" Malon said excitedly.
Malon and Link walked outside the temple and were horrified. There were re-deads everywhere.
"Wha-wha-what happened?!" Malon said breaking down in tears.
Link couldn't answer, he was just as shocked, "Lets just get out of here as fast as possible."
Malon noticed Links face of dread and didn't say anything, "Alright."
The newly found adults got out of castle town and crossed the field to reach the gate to the village. They went to the inn and tried to rent a room.
"There has to be at least one room!" Malon yelled
"Calm down Malon, it's not her fault" Link said trying to cool the situation.
Link and Malon left the inn and were met by the cucco lady.
"Sorry, I couldn't help but overhear you need a place to stay, you can come to my house for the night if you need, There's food and clothes for you (Malon) if you need them." The cucco lady said.
"Thank you so much!" Malon said excitedly.
"How much?" Link asked.
"Free, I understand these times are hard" she replied.
"Wow, that would be great!" Link said
Malon noticed the big smile on Link's face and it made her warm and smile even more than she already was.
They all went to the house and ate.
"Alright your room is to the right!" The lady said with a smile
"Im sorry, room?" Malon asked
"Yeah, is there a prob- Oh, I was under the impression you were lovers." The lady said
"It's fine," Link said, "Lets go Malon."
"O-Ok" Malon said nervously.
In the room Link and Malon sat on the bed.
"So, who's sleeping where?" Malon asked
Link looked confused at her, "What do you mean? We're sharing the bed"
Malon started to blush, "Oh"
Link blew out the candle light and the two went to bed.
