An; Hey. Welcome to my first proper fanfiction. I love the Harry Potter books, and my mind wondered as I watched part one of the Deathly Hallows. Now, I named this story "From The Shadows". A big thank you to Fallenepiphany for helping me there :D Here's her link; .net/u/1564306/Fallenepiphany

Okay, so heres the first chapter. I've set it in her sixth year, when Harry's away looking for the Horcuxes and he doesn't go to school. I'm making up the events as I go on, so. I have my beta (again, Fallenepiphany, thank you).

Feel free to review and give me suggestions, comments or whatever.

Prologue; Memories In The Moonlight

Sitting in one of the Ravenclaw dorms, was the one girl that everyone tried to avoid. She was an outcast at this school, but she had grown used to it. A sixth year Ravenclaw student who had a dorm to herself and didn't really have anyone to call mom and dad. Talk about a lonely girl. Her name? Abbey Reynolds. She was sitting by the large window, staring out of the clear glass as the snow fell down from the heavens. There were only two living things in the room with her, a cat and an owl. Abbey slipped out of the small arch where the window was, and walked over to her bed. It was made from black ebony, with ravens carved into the smooth wood. Her pale hand ran across the bed posts, over to table near the door. She opened the top drawer to reveal two letters. As she pulled one out, the silver intent of a snake shone brightly in the moonlight. She soon put it back and turned away to sit by the window again. When she reached the marble flooring next to the big window, she sat down, brought her knees up to her chest and stared out of the window again. A soft purring from her cat soon reached her ears, which caused Abbey to smile. Her icy-blue eyed black coloured Bombay cat, which was named Shadow, sat on her bed, curled in a ball. Then there was her grey coloured Elf Owl which had big golden eyes which she got herself during the summer. She had named him Keaton. As Abbey's big, chocolate coloured eyes got hit by the moonlight on this cool, crisp December evening, her mind wandered to her fifth birthday. The flash of green light that had caused her mother to fall to the ground. She remembered the vacant expression that entered her mom's moss green eyes, giving her the appearance of death.
