Merlin's Chance

Matt sighed as he watched his most recent vision come true: his beautiful Arriane was choosing his own brother over him. Vane always took everything that ever mattered. How he wished that Ryan would come to her senses and beg for him to take her back. There was just one thing: No kissing.
The first time they had kissed, he ha had a vision. As soon as her lips met his, it was blocked. The others were determined that this would not happen again.
He began to weep over losing her, and wept for about twenty minutes before he realized that he speak to her through her amulet. Ryan, he said. Please, I promise you that if you come back to me...
Promise me what? She thought in response. He smiled for the first time that day.
I promise that I will love you forever and that you will never be alone, he said.
And then she left Vane and came to him. And all was right in his world.
