A bird in her cage,
a song to be sung once more,
a voice, now a scream.
Hi again! This is the third part of the "Perfect Poetry" challenge, and this theme was freeverse, as in, do whatever the hell ya want! I felt like trying my hand at a haiku to make things short, sweet and simple, especially when the Mockingjay has to sing her song for everyone. It kind of makes me wonder about how often Katniss was manipulated in the books, and I tried to echo the trauma in the last line there, but for the most part, I just had some fun with it.
If you're interested in more challenges or watching the competition progress, then do take a look at the link on my profile! You can spectate and/or wait around for Season Two in order to compete yourself. I do love me some poetry, so I figured this challenge would be a suitable way to get our authors to really understand how important pacing is in a story.
Don't hesitate to leave me some feedback, be it via PM or review :D
Over and out!
