Hey, Dawn here (or Blood if you prefer)! I'm new to this fandom and it hasn't wanted to leave me alone so I wrote this during the past couple days of school, though it's short. This takes place sometime after Best Kept Secret but before Confession.
Warnings: Kissing
Disclaimer: I don't own Bare, sadly.
Matt shifts uncomfortably, trying desperately to keep his eyes on the board. He fails miserably though, his eyes constantly flick back to glance at two of his classmates. It had been like this in every class he had with the two of them and he knew he was going to fail his religion test tomorrow because of it. He couldn't help it though, his thoughts were whirling around like crazy.
Jason and Peter, the thought alone sent his head reeling. He tried to comprehend it all. Peter and Jason, gay? For each other? It didn't make sense, he just couldn't see it. Matt wondered about it. They were best friends and extremely close. They'd all just thought they were like brothers. Being best friends though, he supposed it did make sense. He didn't see anything to suggest more than that, though.
Except, of course, for the- kiss.
Looking back at the two of them, whispering in the back of history, he sort of wondered why no one did see it. He sees them bump shoulders and bump hands as they reached for each other's notes. Whenever they touch they would lock eyes and share secret grins. At one point, Jason touches Peter's shoulder in a strangely intimate gesture and leans over to whisper in his ear. Peter blushes and grins before elbowing Jason in the stomach. He says something back to which Jason simply laughs. Matt realizes belatedly that they were flirting.
It makes Matt's skin boil, to think that perfect Jason had everything he, Matt, wants and strives for and yet he was practically throwing it all away.
Jason is the most popular guy in school. He is the lead in the senior play and gets amazing grades. The guy has girls falling all over him and most importantly, Ivy. Yet, Jason doesn't even like girls!
Later, when the bell rings, Peter spills all his stuff on the floor. He tells everyone to go ahead as Jason ducks down to help him. Matt ducks out of the room and peers around the doorframe at the pair. He feels perverse and voyeuristic but curiosity is consuming him.
Together, Jason and Peter sweep Peter's books into a pile and Peter leans back on onto his heels. He's about to push himself into a standing position when Jason grabs his wrist and presses their lips together. Peter's books that had been in his hands slip to the floor once again though they stay orderly this time.
Peter's arms snake around Jason's neck. One of Jason's hands was keeping the two steady while the other was on the small of Peter's back, drawing the two closer together. They part with a grin and Jason's hand returns to Peter's, intertwining the two's fingers. They stand together and, after gathering Peter's books once again, they head towards the door.
Matt's heart leaps and he takes off towards the nearest bathroom, the scene replaying in his head.
It was a sin and it made Matt sick. They were damned surely. But, at the same time, all of them- in their circle of friends- had sinned at some point (some more severely than others). It would be ignorant to suggest otherwise. Was it really his place to judge? Besides, it made Peter and Jason happy it seemed, and even if he didn't really like Jason, he did care for Peter as a friend.
Could it maybe be okay? Could a sin really be a good thing?
There you have it, there you are.
Hope you enjoyed, please review! I want to know how well I captured these guys...
