Daryl paced outside of Carol cell for what seem like forever "come on Dixon, don't be a pussy it's just a damn necklace "he whispered to himselflooked over his shoulder to see carol nursing baby Judith with a smile on her face he couldn't help but smile
he walked into Carols empty Cell and grabbed the gold necklace with a diamond heart he admired it for a second and sighed bent over to place the necklace on her pillow when he heard carol walk behind him, he froze "oh shit, oh shit, oh shit what the fuck do I say" he thought as he was still bent over her bed
her voice broke the silence "so, come here often?" she jokingly asked, he felt a small blush creep up on his face as he slowly turned around to look at her "I-I found this necklace on the last run and I thought you would like it so I grabbed it it for ya" he stated looking at the ground"really? Can I see it?" carol asked with excitement in her voice similar to a young child on Christmas mooring, he slowly brought up the necklace and handed it to her, her face lit up with a smile that reached her ears as she admired the piece jewellery "its, its beautiful"
she handed the necklace to him and turned around "put it on me please" he put the necklace round her slender neck "this is pretty romantic" he said with a smirk she turned around and stuck out her tongue "so what do ya think?" she said with a smile,
he looked at her and really took in her beauty, she was wearing a yellow tank top and blue jeans that flattered her figure and her hair had grown out a good 3 inches and it was now a dark brown color with little to no grey, he remembered three months ago she had told him Ed used to make her dye her hair grey so other men wouldn't find her attractive, but even with grey hair she was the most beautiful woman Daryl had ever laid eyes on
he realized he was standing there staring at her for the past minute he took a deep breath and said as smoothly as he could " I think you look even more beautiful" he felt his face become like flames as he looked at the ground, he felt her take a few steps closer, he could feel her warm breath on his chest, she reached her hand out and cupped his cheek and raised his face so he was looking at her, he raised his hand to hers and held it, she took another step, she was now pressed against him, he would usually not let anyone so close put he felt a connection between them, one he had never felt before , she started to lean in and he swore in that moment his heart was going to exploded, he started to meet her halfway when their lips met he saw stars, it was like it was in slow motion he raised his other hand to hold the back of her neck to deepen the kiss they broke the kiss when air was a necessity, they stood there panting, when Maggie's voice startled them "GUYS, DINNER!"
Carol turned to leave when Daryl grabbed her hand and intertwined their finger s and said " I don't know what this is, but ii like it" Carol smiled and kissed his hand, they walked down to the group and held hands the entire time and got a few stares but didn't care.
