Hey guys! As everyone is aware of, I don't have anything to do with Crossing Jordan. This is just a short, cheesy Woody and Jordan New Years story. I hope you like it!

A Fresh Start For A New Year

Jordan sat in her apartment on New Years Eve; she had opted to send the night alone in her apartment rather then going out into the crowded streets of Boston. Only 15 minutes until midnight, 2005 was almost over. She could not be happier about that. It had been a hard year. She just hoped that 2006 would bring her better things.

Midnight was approaching when there was a knock on her door. She wasn't expecting anyone. Everyone from the morgue had other plans so it probably wasn't any of them. She muted the TV and got up to answer the door. When she looked through the peephole she was surprised to see who it was.

"Woody?"

"Hey Jordan. Can I come in?"

"Sure."

She stepped aside to let him enter.

"You want a beer?"

"Yeah, that would be great."

She went into the kitchen as he made himself comfortable on the couch. Looking at the TV he saw that there was 10 minutes left until midnight.

"So what brings you here Woody?" She asked handing him his beer.

"Well, I wanted to talk to you about something. I have actually wanted to talk to you for a while, but I haven't found the right time."

"Ok."

He was silent for a moment. Jordan could only assume that he was trying to figure out how to start. She had no idea what he wanted to talk about, but she couldn't really stop him.

"Jordan, I know that this year hasn't exactly been perfect. After the shooting, I know that I changed a lot. I turned into a real asshole. I just wanted to apologize. I am sorry for turning you away in the hospital and accusing you of saying those words out of pity. You had said everything that I have ever wanted you to say and I didn't believe you and turned you away. I was such an idiot. I just proceeded to make matters worse by treating you as badly as I did. I am sorry for everything that I have done. We both know that we have grown apart over these past few months and it has gotten to the point that it is killing me. Can you forgive me? Can we start over? A fresh start for a new year?"

Jordan sat there stunned for a moment. That was a lot of information to get all at one time. She looked at the TV. The clock said there was 30 seconds until midnight.

"No."

Woody's heart dropped at her response. He was about to stand up and leave when he felt her hand on his arm.

"Not until after the ball drops."

He felt so many emotions run through him all at the same time. Smiling with relief, he grabbed her hand and they watch TV while they counted down the final seconds of 2005.

"3….2….1"

"Happy New Year Jordan."

"Happy New Year Woody."

Lacing his fingers through her hair, he pulled her to him and pressed his lips against hers. At first the kiss was light and playful but as it deepened, they both knew that it was going to be a great new year.
